Najette is a mama bear to 5 year-old twin girls and decided to get into bread baking when the girls were a year and a half old. They had just started eating grains and Najette wanted ensure the bread they were eating was nutrient-dense, more easily digestible, and free of the inflammatory oils, sugars, and preservatives found in many store-bought breads.
Najette received her B.A. in Communications Studies from The University of Michigan in 2002 and her certification in Holistic Nutrition from The Institute of Holistic Nutrition in Toronto, Ontario in 2012. Najette specialized in corporate wellness for the first 6 years of her career as a Holistic Nutritionist, seeing clients one-on-one, as well as conducting wellness presentations at various corporations in the Metro Detroit Area. She took almost four years off to care for herself in the last trimester of pregnancy with twin girls and then to care for her family once the girls were born. Najette is now spreading her nutritional knowledge to the world via her ebook The Empowered Parent: Help Your Children Avoid Chronic Illness and Experience Optimal Wellness and sharing her love of sourdough.
With Najette's background in holistic nutrition, the health of her family is one of her main priorities each day.
